Tales of Three Cities E-Portfolio

Project 1: Ideas & Theories in Urbanism
Objective:
1) To explore various urban theories and ideas in the theme
2) To know how various social situations responded to spatial forms
3) To acquire an holistic understanding about various historical phases of the case study cities

Learning Outcome:
1) Develop formal attributes of a number of key examples on the design of the cities in the East, during the
historical and contemporary times.
2) Identify, discuss and critique various urban design theories and ideas.

Project 2
Objective:
1) To experience the urban space and take part in urban life
2) To allow the students to explore the potentiality of space, form and their relationship to aspects of
use and cultural meaning

Learning Outcome:
1) Identify, discuss and critique various urban design theories and ideas.
2) Explain how ideas, cultural values (intangible) and topography and other site conditions (tangible) can
offer to significant perceptions and experiences.
3) Record through and present the fundamental urban research techniques in spatial and perceptional
studies.
